This organization is for individuals who appreciate challenging themselves and thrive on curiosity. We operate with a flat organizational structure. All employees are expected to be hands-on and to contribute directly to the company’s mission. Leadership is given to those who show initiative and consistently deliver excellence. Work ethic and strong prioritization skills are important. All employees are expected to have strong communication skills. They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced Lead, Driver to oversee delivery and material transport operations supporting data center construction and operations in Memphis, TN. In this working-lead role, you will lead a team of drivers responsible for the safe, timely, and damage-free movement of high-value materials and equipment (including servers, networking gear, power systems, cooling infrastructure, and other critical components) between warehouses, vendor sites, and data center locations. You will combine hands-on driving and loading duties with team leadership, route coordination, and compliance oversight in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of drivers; assign routes, provide training, and ensure consistent, safe execution of all transport activities
  • Load, drive, and unload materials using commercial vehicles (tractors, trailers, vans, and flatbeds) while meeting all federal, state, and local transportation requirements
  • Safely load and unload trucks at pickup and drop-off points, primarily using forklifts; ensure loads are properly secured for undamaged delivery
  • Scan barcodes and transact material movements in the WMS/ERP to meet inventory and receiving requirements
  • Take route direction from logistics leadership and communicate issues, delays, or exceptions promptly to supervisors and affected teams
  • Maintain and review all required delivery documentation; ensure paperwork accuracy and compliance
  • Monitor vehicle condition, service records, cleanliness, and fueling; report problems immediately
  • Operate Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and maintain a safe driving record
  • Support receiving, material handling, and inventory operations as needed
  • Drive process improvements for efficiency, safety, and on-time delivery

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • 3+ years of commercial driving experience (short-haul required; long-haul preferred), including at least 1 year in a lead, senior, or supervisory driving capacity

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in expediting, material handling, or high-volume manufacturing/data center logistics
  • Experience with barcode scanning and ERP/WMS systems
  • Experience operating a forklift and other material-handling equipment
  • Experience transporting high-value or sensitive equipment
  • Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME) or ability to obtain
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and maintain high safety and compliance standards

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed to support project timelines
  • Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
  • Willingness to work in warehouse and outdoor environments that may include varying temperatures, noise, and dust
  • Must maintain a clean driving record and comply with all DOT and company safety policies
