ABOUT EARNIN
As one of the first pioneers of earned wage access, our passion at EarnIn is building products that deliver real-time financial flexibility for people living paycheck to paycheck. Our community members access their earnings as they earn them, with options to spend, save, and grow their money without mandatory fees, interest rates, or credit checks. We’re fortunate to have an incredibly experienced leadership team, combined with world-class funding partners like A16Z, Matrix Partners, DST, Ribbit Capital, and a very healthy core business with a tremendous runway. We’re growing fast and excited to bring on world-class talent to help shape the next chapter of our growth journey.
EarnIn is becoming an AI-native company, embedding AI agents into how we build, analyze, and operate across every function. Teams use AI Agents to move from ideas to execution faster. By letting agents handle repetitive tasks, our people can focus on judgment, creativity, and hard problems. We pair this experimentation with the strict review and security guardrails our regulated financial environment requires, always keeping a focus on privacy and the people who rely on our products.
As a company, we are becoming AI-native, and we encourage you to use AI tools throughout much of your interview process. If you use AI during the live interview, just say so; a quick, natural mention of how it helped and why you are using it is all we need. What we're evaluating is your judgment, reasoning, and ability to own and defend your work, not whether AI was involved. Some rounds, particularly those focused on your career history and past experiences, will not allow the use of AI, and we'll let you know of those in advance. When in doubt, ask your recruiter or interviewer directly.
POSITION SUMMARYWe're on a mission to reinvent the financial system and make it work for people. We are looking for an experienced professional to lead a full-stack engineering team comprising backend and mobile engineers. As a hands-on Tech Lead Manager for one of our core services teams, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the design and development of some of our early-stage, innovative products. You will work with your cross-functional partners and team to shape the direction of these products and help make them significant drivers for the company. This position is a hybrid role based in our Bengaluru office, with 2 days a week in the office as part of our expanding site. EarnIn provides excellent benefits, including healthcare, internet/cell phone reimbursement, a learning and development stipend, and potential opportunities to travel to our Mountain View HQ. Our salary ranges depend on role, level, and location.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Partner closely with Product and other engineering teams to improve business metrics and build new features. Examples include improving user acquisition metrics, cross-selling and upselling products, and improving user experience.

- Guide your team through ambiguity and ensure technical excellence through rapid experimentation cycles.
- Guide your team to strong execution—make pragmatic decisions, help them launch MVPs quickly, and iterate based on feedback.
- Lead your team through frequent pivots and evolving priorities in a fast-changing environment.
- Recruit other great engineers for your team and support recruiting efforts across teams.
- Mentor and coach the engineers on your team. Help them advance their careers by enabling them to do the best work of their lives.
- Manage cross-functional relationships with all teams to deliver high-quality products.
- Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading a small team as a manager.
- You're just as energized diving into architecture, writing clean, scalable code, and solving challenging technical problems as you are mentoring engineers, shaping team culture, and driving delivery. You know when to roll up your sleeves and when to empower others—and you're equally excited to do both.
- You can work comfortably with a cross-functional team of PMs, Analysts, and mobile and back-end-focused engineers.
- You have led a team that consistently delivered high-quality output on critical infrastructure projects.
- You are a creative, tenacious problem solver with a get-it-done attitude

- You can create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment in which everyone is supported, encouraged, and meaningfully challenged to do great work
- Preferred tech skills: C#, .NET/.NET Core, Kotlin, Python, SQL, Databricks, AWS, REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, Kafka, CI/CD, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native development.
