At the core is the Global Content Services team, the group responsible for operating the major League of Legends, Valorant, TFT and other competitive international tournaments, defining global policies for the sport, driving global narratives, and providing services to our regional leagues. Production Accountants at Riot are responsible for processing and maintaining the financial data related to live events (e.g., esports) and other production related projects. As a Production Accountant on the Global Content Services team,  you will be based in Korea to ensure local processes align with global standards while providing on-site financial support for live events. 

You will report to the Sr Manager, Production Finance in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated on-site production financial support for global and major regional events in APAC, acting as a direct finance partner to production teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Collaborate and align with Global Content Services group to maintain a Vendor Rate Management system across a diverse network of vendors to standardize rate cards; Collaborate with regional PDs and prepare detailed production budgets per event in accordance with the production chart of accounts in a timely manner.
  • Maintain, track and report production expenses against budgets in real-time in financial systems and production tools to identify risks or savings opportunities.
  • Support post-event financial retro reports that tie detailed costs and core success metrics to provide key business insights to stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate closely with regional PDs and stakeholders, sharing local insights to ensure financial decisions are aligned with the Global Content Services group.
  • Collaborate with Finance (Accounting, Tax, Purchasing, Treasury, T&E) to identify and escalate financial risk to the Global Content Services team.
  • Collaborate with Legal to identify and escalate local risks to the Global Content Services team.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports including cost-benchmarking, year-over-year comparisons, and contract negotiations.

Required Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Bilingual (Korean and English) for seamless global collaboration.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of financial principles, with experience managing budgets, tracking costs, or performing financial analysis.
  • Self-starter with a solutions-oriented, proactive mindset with the confidence to act as a financial partner to teams.
  • Highest level of integrity when handling confidential or sensitive financial data.
  • Ability to manage projects or initiatives, ensuring alignment with global goals, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Must be available for regional and international travel.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business-related field.
  • 5+ years experience in Production accounting and/or finance experience working within the esports, traditional sports, entertainment, or media agency industries. Former experience as a line producer.
  • Experience with media budgeting software (e.g., movie magic, media web, and showbiz).
  • Analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to use data to power decision-making, leveraging AI and role-related tools (i.e., Airtable, Google Suite) for analysis and automation. 
  • Experience in local KR/APAC tax and regulatory compliance relating to event production: production workers, governments and vendor setups.
