About Fuse

We are building one of the most potentially consequential companies of the century. Our mission is to accelerate the world's transition to fusion energy while safeguarding humankind. This is not a normal company. This is not a normal job. We are committed for the long term to win.

About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer at Fuse, you're building at the limit of what's possible, advancing pulsed-power technology as part of a team tackling the monumental challenge of fusion energy.

Core Responsibilities

Design, build, and test control and data acquisition (DAQ) systems for pulsed-power facilities.

Design and assemble PCBs for control systems, diagnostics, and pulsed-power applications.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and analyze the performance of electrical components, assemblies, and systems.

Develop control architectures spanning sensing, actuation, embedded hardware, and data acquisition.

Conduct applied R&D across electrical engineering, fusion energy, and pulsed-power systems.

Write specifications and technical reports and support systems through build, testing, and iteration.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

1+ years of experience in PCB schematic and layout design using Altium Designer or equivalent software.

1+ years of experience simulating electronic circuits using SPICE.

1+ years of experience designing control processes and control systems, including defining control architecture, sensing, and actuation.

1+ years of experience configuring and managing data acquisition (DAQ) systems.

Proficiency with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, and DMMs, as well as sensors and calibration techniques.

Experience with embedded hardware system design.

Ability and willingness to travel between Fuse locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

C and/or Python programming ability.

Experience with pulsed-power, high-voltage, or high-current systems.

Familiarity with EMI hardening and protected I/O for electrically noisy environments.

Hands-on experience with embedded protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, RS-485, or Ethernet.

What We Value

Give a shit. Build things you're proud of.

Take responsibility. If something is broken and you can fix it, fix it. See things through.

Move fast. Make decisions, learn quickly, and keep moving forward.

Think bigger. Simplify relentlessly. Don't default to the safe answer.

Disagree and commit. The best idea wins. Once a decision is made, we move.

Desire to win. This is hard. Expect intensity. We are here to win.

Plan B is to make Plan A work.

Additional Requirements

Must be able to travel and work extended hours/weekends as needed.

Benefits

Medical, dental, and vision coverage.

Relocation assistance for roles that require it.

Flexible time off. Take what you need, no accrual tracking.

2 weeks of paid time off built into the end of each year, subject to team and business needs.

Supportive leave of absence policies.

Paid leave for new parents.

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
